Woman assaulted by stranger

POLICE are investigating an assault in Whitby on a woman in the early hours of Friday morning (25 March).

The woman was grabbed hold of by the man who then let go and ran off when she screamed.

The attack happened at around 1.30am in Mayfield Road between Whitby Community College and the Four Lane Ends roundabout.

The suspect has been described as white, aged in his late 20’s of a very skinny build and around five foot eight inches tall.

He had dyed short black hair which was spiky on top and was wearing black jeans and a short sleeved black t-shirt with white lettering on the back. A spokesman for Whitby Police said: “The most distinctive feature of the male was his eyes which were bright blue and possibly enhanced by coloured contact lenses.”
