Following the death of Glaisdale man Kyle Gibson, Whitby police are appealing for the public’s help.

Nineteen-year-old Kyle passed away on Tuesday following a road traffic collision on Egton Road, which links Egton to the A171.

The crash took place at around 10.30pm last Thursday at a crossroads, and police are asking for anyone who may have witnessed the crash to get in touch.

Traffic constable Zoe Billings, of the major collision investigation team, said: “If you have any information which could help progress this enquiry, I urge you to contact the police straight away.”

The collision involved a black Ford Mondeo, travelling away from Egton, and a green Peugeot 206, heading towards Glaisdale.

Following the incident, the occupants of the two vehicles were taken to James Cook Hospital in Middlesbrough with various injuries.

Kyle’s were the most severe, and sadly he succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday.

Four men aged between 20 and 22 and a 16-year-old boy who were also injured in the collision have all now been released from hospital.
