Vital witnesses sought to aid death crash investigation

Police investigating after a pedestrian was killed in a collision on the A171 near Whitby have identified two potentially important witnesses who they would like to speak to.

Enquiries since the collision occurred on Thursday December 5, have established that two people, possibly both women who were travelling together, stopped to help at the scene.

They helped to push a Ford Focus, which was involved in the collision resulting in the death of 35-year-old Carl Norton, to the side of the road.

Officers believe that these two people may have information vital to the investigation and are urging them to come forward as soon as possible.
