Detectives in Whitby investigating the circumstances surrounding the discovery of a man with serious head injuries in the town have found the incident was not suspicious.
Following extensive police enquiries and a good response from the local community, it is believed that the man suffered the injuries as the result of a fall and there are no suspicious circumstances.
The man, who was originally from Hull but was living in Whitby, remains in Hull Royal Infirmary in a critical condition.
Detective Superintendent Dai Malyn, who led the enquiry, said: “I would like to thank everyone who came forward and provided us with valuable information. I am confident that the injuries are the result of an accident and he was not the victim of a crime.”
