POLICE arrested two people on Tuesday after they were spotted cutting drugs up on Sandsend seafront in broad daylight.
The pair were spotted sitting in a parked red vehicle on the Whitby to Sandsend road at around 3pm and when police arrived, the duo were found to be in possession of herbal cannabis and suspected amphetamine.
A 49-year-old man and a 34-year-old female from Worksop, were arrested at the scene for possession with intent to supply.
Whitby police inspector Mark Grange said: “We have really tried to clamp down on drug crime as much as we can.
“CID has been leading a number of searches in the town over the last few months and that’s all been from intelligence and calls from the public.”
The vehicle was seized by police and the couple were both later released on bail.
