A WHITBY man who stole a £150 mobile phone and then tried to sell it at a Scarborough store, was fined a total of £200 at a Scarborough Magistrates’ Court hearing on 17 August.
Neil Eglon (23), of Abbott’s Walk, pleaded guilty to stealing a Sony Ericsson mobile phone on 27 May.
He then attempted to sell the phone at Scarborough’s C.E.X. store on Westborough on 5 June.
He was fined £100, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £15 and costs of £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.
