A cyclist suffered three cracked ribs and a cracked shoulder after being involved in a hit and run incident in Whitby.

The 34 year old local man was hit by a white car on Mulgrave Place at around 8pm last Thursday (July 17) and had to go to Whitby Hospital for treatment.

The driver of the car, which turned right out of Albert Place just before the collision occurred, did not stop at the scene

Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information about the identity of the car or driver to contact them.

It is thought that the car was white and similar to a Peugeot 208 and the only description of the driver is that she was around 19-years-old with blonde hair.

Contact North Yorkshire Police on 101 – select option 2 – and ask for PC Neil Graham or Whitby police or email quoting reference number 12140118594.
