Chainsaw stolen

A CHAINSAW worth more than £500 has been stolen from an unlocked garage in Egton Bridge.

The Husqvarna saw was worth £540 and was taken between 11 and 14 February.

Sgt Jonathan Webb of Whitby Police said: “We are getting quite a few thefts from outbuildings in the rural area. We don’t know if they are travelling criminals coming into the area.

“If anyone sees any suspicious vehicles in the area we would ask people ring the police to report it.”

A quad bike has also been stolen from an insecure building in Whitby’s rural area.
