Boy left with broken wrist after hit and run collision

A 16-year-old boy was left with a broken wrist after being knocked off his bike on Saturday evening.

The Whitby teenager was cycling along North Terrace at around 11.30pm when a car, which was travelling in the same direction, collided with him, causing him to fall off his cycle.

He was taken to hospital for treatment to his broken wrist and a cut to his arm.

The collision occurred in the area in front of the Royal Hotel near the whale bone arch and involved a dark blue or black hatchback with a loud exhaust.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to the incident to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101 and select option 2.
