THE body of a man who went missing in Runswick Bay last week has been found on a local beach.
Vijendra Pal, from Sutton Coldfield, had been staying at the Cliffemount Hotel in Runswick Bay where he had been a guest for the past fortnight.
Mr Pal’s green Renault Megane was found unoccupied on Cowbar Lane, Staithes on Wednesday 13 April but he had not been seen since Tuesday 12 April and concerns had been growing for his safety.
The body of the 63-year-old was found washed up on Cowbar Beach between Staithes and Boulby by officers from Cleveland Police at around 9.20am on Saturday 16 April.
The RNLI crew recovered the body to the lifeboat and made their way back to the Staithes and Runswick Boathouse.
The lifeboat was ready for service again by 10.38am.
