Beer lorry theft

A LORRY delivering goods to the Middle Earth Tavern on Church Street had a quantity of cash stolen from the cab on Thursday (16 August).

At around 2pm a LWC Teesside Beers lorry was parked outside and delivering to the tavern.

During this time an unknown make wearing a blue t-shirt has got out of a nearby vehicle and opened the passenger door of the lorry, removing cash bags containing £150 in notes.

He is then reported as making off up the street.

A pair of witnesses informed the driver of what they had seen but left no details.
