Whitby Cricket Club is hoping to knock a world record for six when it stages a 24-hour pool and darts marathon.
For the last six years it has held a 12 hour event to raise money for charity but this is the first time it will be held over an entire night and day.
Money raised goes towards the cricket club funds with £500 also being donated to St Catherine’s Hospice.
Organiser Gary Summerson has been looking into records for similar events and doesn’t think it has been done before.
He said: “This is going to be the biggest and best yet and the first 24 hour one to combine darts and pool as far as I know and we want to get more people involved.”
The event starts on Friday September 4 at 7pm and continues until 7pm the following day.
