CHRIS HARDY: Treatment table starting to fill up
We have plenty of lads on the treatment table at the moment - we're certainly keeping Jeff (Miller) busy.
Andy Monkouse has a tight hamstring, Dale Hopson hobbled off with a groin problem on Tuesday night and we also have Adam Gell (ankle), Josh Nearney (ankle) and Kieran Weledji struggling with injuries.
On the positive side of things, Greg Rutherford finally managed to get some minutes under his belt on Saturday and Tuesday and hopefully he can start to get some momentum now and build up to full fitness going forward.
There’s also a battle for the gloves at the moment as Adam McHugh hasn’t done an awful lot wrong, but we’re mindful that he will be returning to his parent club soon and Jack Norton is our number one - so a decision needs to be made.
Our poor fortunes in the cup competitions continued as we exited the FA Trophy and Integro League Cup with defeats on Saturday and Tuesday night.
It’s incredibly frustrating for me, the players and the fans as I thought we were the best side in both games.
I didn’t think Witton were in great form, but we didn’t manage to capitalise and find that match-winning moment to turn the game in our favour.
Tuesday we were the better side and their keeper played a blinder to help them to the win.
In the end it went down to the lottery of a penalty shoot-out, and as a coach you really can’t criticise a player who shows the mental strength to step up and take a pen - unless they do a ridiculous Paul Pogba-style run-up.
We’ll try to bounce back when we welcome South Shields to the Turnbull Ground on Saturday.
They will no doubt bring a lot of fans with them, so hopefully there’ll be a good atmosphere in the ground.
