REHEARSALS are well under way at West Cliff School as the popular choir prepares for yet another busy Christmas season.
The 38 singers, who range from seven to eleven years of age, have all been practising hard on Christmas carols, which they will perform at nursing homes, community events and functions throughout December.
Head teacher Christina Zanelli said: “They’re beautiful singers and listening to them makes me cry every year.”
Each year the children perform at the switching on of the Christmas lights in Pannett Park, which takes place this year on 14 December at 6.30pm, outside the museum.
They are performing at West Cliff School’s Christmas Fayre on 1 December and also at the school’s carol service at St Hilda’s Church on 19 December.
They are also constantly on the lookout for other events to perform at, although available times are quickly being reserved, but to have the West Cliff choir perform at an event or community centre, call music teacher Miss Anna Boorer at the school on (01947) 602510.
