CCTV appeal after Whitby shop theft

Police have issued CCTV of a man they want to speak to after alcohol was stolen from a shop in Whitby.

On the afternoon of Saturday July 30 a man entered Bargain Booze on Windsor Terrace and picked up a 15-pack carton of Carlsberg lager before leaving the store without making payment.

He is described as being white, about 5ft 5ins tall, in his late twenties, with short dark hair and he was wearing a blue zip-up jacket.

PC Jonathan Formstone, of Whitby Police, said: "We do not tolerate this behaviour in Whitby, and I encourage the public to come forward with information in order for us to take positive action."

Police are requesting the public’s assistance to help locate the man pictured in the attached CCTV, as he may have important information that could assist this investigation.
