St Hedda’s RC Primary School had a special visit from the Bishop of Middlesbrough Terrence Drainey on Wednesday 28 September.
Arriving just after the bell went for the start of the day, he spent the morning delivering assembly and meeting the children, parents, governors and staff.
He also blessed the canteen and classroom which were built in 2014.
Mrs Olive Braithwaite, the former school cook, officially opened the building and revealed the commemorative plaque.
Meanwhile, St Hedda’s has welcomed three new pupils to the fold – Layton, Rhona and William. They are now enjoying a range of activities, mixing play and formal teaching in a relaxed and happy family environment.
St Hedda’s will be hosting an Open Afternoon on Tuesday 18 October at 1pm.
