A STAITHES fresh fish wholesaler has scooped a prestigious award at the seventh annual deliciouslyorkshire awards.
Whitby Seafish was presented with the Best Fish and Seafood award for its Oak Smoked Salmon at the glittering awards ceremony held at Harrogate’s Rudding Park.
Matthew Asquith, owner of Whitby Seafish, said: “We’re delighted to win this award.
“It’s a real feather in the cap for the company and I’d like to thank all our staff for helping make it happen.”
20 awards were presented on the night and Cath Clelland, chair of deliciouslyorkshire, said: “Year on year the quality of entrants has been exemplary and reinforces Yorkshire’s position as a leading force in the UK’s food and drink sector.
“Many congratulations to all the entrants on setting the bar even higher this year - and special mention to Whitby Seafish for a very deserving win in a particularly competitive category.”
The event also raised over £3,000 for children’s charity Barnardos.
