THE COMPANY hoping to building a green energy generator in the River Esk at Ruswarp are inviting potential investors to attend a share launch later this month.
Esk Valley Community Energy Group are hosting two events to launch their share issue for £320,000 in Esk Energy (Yorkshire) Ltd, to fund the project.
The funds raised by the issue will be used to install a 50kw hydroelectric turbine, using a “fish friendly” Archimedes screw, on the River Esk at Ruswarp, near Whitby.
The aims of the project are to produce “green” energy, thereby reducing carbon emissions, and to produce a regular income to finance continuing carbon-reducing projects.
Shares are available for as little as £250, up to a maximum of £20,000.
The first launch takes place at 7.30pm on 20 July at Whitby Museum.
The second takes place at 2pm on 30 July at The Moors Centre in Danby.
To register your interest in attending either of these events email email@example.com.
If you are unable to attend but would like to know more then visit www.whitbyeskenergy.org.uk or contact Colin Mather on (01287) 669641.
