BUILDING firms in the Whitby area can find out how to become part of the supply chain for councils and other public sector organisations at an even next month,
Despite the recent budget cuts North Yorkshire County Council says it is is taking its responsibility to support local businesses, the local economy and local employment seriously.
Small and medium sized businesses from the construction industry can meet at the Pavilions of Harrogate on Wednesday 18 May from 3pm to 7pm to see how they can become part of the supply chain for councils and other public sector partners in the region.
There will be support on hand for those looking for help with growing their businesses.
BuildNorthYorkshire led and funded by North Yorkshire County Council is a network of construction companies, subcontractors and business support organisations working together to develop the construction supply chain in the county.
The network is free to join and in 2011 the benefits of membership are being made available to a much wider audience than ever before.
As well as business owners members of the public can now search for employment and apprenticeships, work experience placements and post their CVs which construction contractors can search.
There is also information and support for those interested in starting up a business.
