A boutique bed and breakfast in Goathland has scooped a prestigious five-star rating - just months after it opened.
Eighteen97 was bought by Fiona and Tim Gardham two years ago and since then has undergone an £80, 000 refurbishment.
It opened its doors to the paying public in August and learned this week that it had got the five-star accolade from tourism website VisitBritain.
Eighteen97 has also clocked up a 100% rating on Trip Advisor and the couple are hoping for more success this year.
Feedback revealed that guests love the views over the moors or the gardens and the special finishing touches in the three individually designed rooms such as fine linen, branded toiletries and yummy treats.
Home-made breakfasts feature local produce and packed lunches and picnic hampers are available for those setting off on a hike onto the moors.
Tim and Fiona used to run Dillons B&B in Whitby which is also a five-star business.
Fiona said: “We’d been in Whitby for some time and decided we wanted a change.
“It took almost three years of searching to find the right place, and lots of hard work renovating but it’s all been worth it.
“We always strive to offer a five-star experience so it’s great we’ve been recognised for it by both official inspectors and those who have visited us.”
