Blood-thirsty Count says ‘fangs for the memories’

We take another trip down memory lane this week with the publication of some more photos from the Whitby Gazette archive.

This week’s selection of photos show Joseph and Doreen Shaw, who were landlord and landlady at Whitby’s Board Inn pub on Church Street.

We also feature Rex Greenwood as the blood-thirsty Count, who was at the opening of Whitby’s Dracula Experience, and the presentation of the Queen’s award to Boulby Mine from Lord Guisborough in 1988.

You can email your old photos to or call in to see us at our offices at St Hilda’s Business Centre, The Ropery, Whitby.
