The National Trust is determined to get children active in the great outdoors, teaming up with East Barnby Outdoor Education Centre to offer a new North York Moors event.

‘Bushcraft and beck scrambling’ is a full day of outdoor activities designed to teach kids new skills, help them build confidence in the countryside and inspire a love of the natural world.

Zoe Frank, area ranger for the National Trust on the Yorkshire Coast, said: “This is the perfect chance for kids to explore their wild side with the added benefit of some expert guidance. Think Bear Grylls for beginners! They will learn to safely light a campfire and cook on it, build a den, create some natural art, and do some beck scrambling in the water.”
