Balcony addition to Fylingthorpe property

Alterations to a house at Fylingthorpe were allowed after revised plans were put forward.

The application, made to the North York Moors planning committee, which also included the construction of a balcony, a dormer window and roof lights was made by Mr Taylor and Mrs Galliard of Church Lane, Fylingthorpe.

There were objections to the balcony from neighbours on the grounds that it would result in an overlooking of their house and garden and impact on their privacy.

But in recommending approval, planning officers said that because of the arrangements of the roofs of the two properties and their mature boundaries there would not be a significant amount of overlooking resulting from the proposed extension.
