Eskdale Festival of the Arts is on the lookout for sponsorship.
Plans are well under way for next year’s festival, but chairman Dave Bradley is keen to encourage more sponsors to get behind the March event which saw increased entries last year.
Mr Bradley said: “Local businesses and social groups have been very generous in the past and we are grateful to Boyes Stores for sponsoring our annual gala concert, but we need even more sponsorship if we are to extend and develop our festival to cater for a greater range of interest.
“All sponsors will be acknowledged in the festival programme which goes to press at the end of December.”
Eskdale Festival started in 1902 and over the years it has attracted thousands of young people from Yorkshire and Teesside to play, sing, act and speak.
It includes two days of drama and the spoken word on March 4 and 5, four days of competitive music between March 9 and 12, a gala concert on the evening of Saturday 14, and, for the first time, a concert band competition during the same day.
The National Choir Day is planned for April 11.
Schools and colleges are reminded that entries received with remittance by November 22 will qualify for 10 per cent discount. The closing date for all entries is December 10.
