Residents asked for play area views

RESIDENTS are going to be consulted on plans to create a new play area near a housing estate.

The proposed play area will be created next to Home Housing Group properties in Byland Road and Scarborough Borough Council (SBC) is looking for ideas from residents to help shape the design of the play area.

The council’s Environmental Services team is inviting residents to a drop-in session on Thursday from 6.30pm to 8pm at Stakesby Community Primary School so they can have a say on what they would like to see in the new community play area.

The council’s Parks team will shortly be working on the design of the play area and have already spoken to the Stakesby School Council for suggestions and ideas of what the children would like to see installed.

All of these ideas will be on display, together with different types of play equipment that could be incorporated.

Further consultation is also needed with the wider community on the surrounding green open space. The Environmental Services team wants to discuss the landscape design, shrub and tree planting, fencing, footpaths and seating among other matters.
