Park volunteers and Sainsbury’s staff dig deep

Green-fingered workers from the town’s Sainsbury’s supermarket dug deep to help workers at Pannett Park.

The Friends of Pannett Park, the borough council’s park team and some of the staff from Sainsburys, pictured above, planted five ornamental cherry trees in the park recently.

The trees, also known as Prunus Kanzans, were purchased with money from match funding provided by Sainsburys when some of their staff helped the Friends on two different occasions.

The first was with preparation in the park just prior to the Yorkshire in Bloom judging last year and the second was when they kindly assisted at the Pannett Day event.’
