Whitby Museum is looking for family photographs of christenings, weddings and funeral or mourning scenes from before the 1940s.
The current display in the costume gallery reflects christening robes, maternity wear, wedding and mourning dresses from the late Victorian, Edwardian and 1920s era.
It is hoped to display photographs of local people, families or anyone with local connections, in the gallery to enhance the exhibition, throughout the summer.
The photographic collection, which is on display until the end of May, contains this wonderful image of a family in mourning.
The two Edwardian wedding photographs from the collection are very evocative of the era.
Anyone who has a photograph of a christening, wedding or mourning occasion from before the Second World War, can take them to the museum or call (01947) 602908.
