WHITBY and district enjoyed a fun-filled long weekend of Jubilee celebrations.
Schools, villages and organisations all got into the party spirit to mark the diamond occasion.
There were feasts fit for a king – and certainly a Queen – all around the area with barbecues, afternoon teas and street parties taking place.
Of course, Coronation Chicken topped the menu.
To add to the celebrations there were some right Royal games going on too with the favourites being pin the crown on the Queen, royal themed quizzes and treasure hunts.
Meanwhile villages enjoyed traditional games like tug of war and Maypole dancing.
The Jubilee celebrations have brought communities together, young and old, to mark this momentous occasion and the Whitby Gazette was on hand to capture the action in the following gallery of Jubilee pictures. Click on the link.
