Following a successful Gazette campaign last week, Whitby pensioner Joy Peach has received some help with her garden.
Joy (80) was concerned that the modest patch outside her Clark’s Yard home had become untidy as she wasn’t physically able to maintain it. Luckily a friend of hers paid for local gardener Richard Eshelby to drop round.
“He worked for three hours,” Joy told the Whitby Gazette. “He leapt into the garden straight away and worked really hard,” she added.
“He’s going to come down once a month now. I couldn’t stay here if my garden was a slum, I’m so pleased I can finally look my poor neighbours in the eye.”
