Richard and Sarah Eglon have purchased The Abbey – a carefully crafted three-bedroom, three storey, 1,278 sq ft detached home at Castle Fields.

The property is one of just 38 luxury homes being built by Harrison Homes, which is part of award-winning York-based development firm S Harrison.

Richard said: “I grew up in Whitby and have great affection for the town but moved away for work.

"We have always wanted to buy a property here to be closer to family and friends and Castle Fields appealed because of its perfect location.

"Our house overlooks the castle and has wonderful views.

“The fact it’s a new build was an attractive feature for us, alongside the excellent specification.

"Having seen the quality of the show home, we knew that this development would be first-class, and we are very impressed with the build inside and out.

“The three-storey layout provides lovely views from the front of our home, with our open plan kitchen and separate living room looking out towards the historic Sneaton Castle and surrounding countryside.

"With three bedrooms and a garage it suited our family needs perfectly and we are really looking forward to starting a new chapter of our life here.”

Sixteen of the 21 homes currently released for sale at Castle Fields are now sold subject to contract.

The development includes an extensive range of homes, from two-bedroom dormer bungalows to five-bedroom detached family houses.

The estate agent marketing Castle Fields, Nick Henderson, from Hendersons, said: “Whitby, has recently been named the most in-demand coastal resort for housing in the UK by Rightmove and judging by the interest in Castle Fields, they were right!

"Location is obviously key when it comes to new homes and Castle Fields really takes some beating.”

David Clancy, from S Harrison said: “We have received great feedback on what we are building at Castle Fields.

"Since launching the show home in January, that has only increased, with buyers being particularly impressed with our attention to detail and exacting standards.

"The fact that buyers have also been able to specify kitchen, bathroom and flooring styles, alongside other upgrades, has also added to the unique nature of our development.

"Castle Fields provides choice - with 16 different house styles – and that means every home has its own style and identity.”

Prices at Castle Fields start from £270,000 and range up to £395,000 for the five-bedroom detached homes in phase one, with phase two set to be released soon.
