A WHITBY hair salon is hosting a ‘hair-raising’ day to raise funds for a charity that is supporting a local cancer patient.
Seven-year-old Levi Gilbert, of St Peter’s Road, was diagnosed with a rare form of leukaemia two years ago and has been fighting the cancer with the aid of the Candle Lighters charity organization.
The charity provides support for children diagnosed with cancer in Yorkshire and the salon is hosting the fund-raising day on Sunday 20 November.
A and M Hair Design’s Amanda Coates said: “We thought what better way to raise money for this fantastic cause than to provide you with some pampering at the same time?”
The salon will be offering wash and blow-drys or ‘Cloud 9’ curls, on pre-washed and dried hair, for £10.
Refreshments and cakes will be available and there will be a tombola and raffle available.
Booking in advance is essential, so to do so or for more information, contact Andrea Smith or Felice Beck on (01947) 606024. A and M Hair Design is at St Hilda’s Business Centre at The Ropery.
