WHITBY Leisure Centre will be taking part in a nationwide challenge next month which sees people keeping fit and raising money for Help For Heroes.
Youngsters can also join in the Gym For Heroes event.
Organiser Chris Storer explained the endurance challenge is for three or twelve hours and can be done individually or in a team of up to four people - with no breaks during the challenge time.
The fundraiser starts at 10am on Saturday 9 July and the clock will tick until the event is completed.
Pieces of equipment recommended for the challenge are the rower, bike and treadmill-cross trainer so individuals and teams can compare overall distances.
There will also be a spinning challenge for three hours.
Youngsters can also get in on the act with a junior Gym For Heroes on the day where kids can do an hour of exercise and will receive a certificate of achievement for their help in raising funds for the cause.
A local Help for Heroes fundraising team will also have a stall with tee-shirts, wristbands and other items on sale.
