It follows a recent visit from the show's resident chef Phil Vickery to their Skinner Street bakehouse as part of a four-part mini series, Britain’s Best Tarts.

In a bid to champion the Yorkshire Curd Tart, Nick Botham shared the family recipe, which has been passed down through the generations, with the TV chef who eagerly took part in a masterclass in Botham’s bakehouse.

With its sweet pastry base and a carefully balanced, deep-filled centre of curd, currants, sugar and spices, a Botham’s Yorkshire Curd Tart is not only famous in the town but it is also recognised nationwide.

Jonathan Botham said: “Phil was surprised at the texture of a Botham’s Curd Tart and how much firmer they were when compared to his cottage cheese version.
