The IN-SHORE Whitby lifeboat was launched to help a fishing boat which had lost radio contact.

It was thought that vessel Nicola Faith had run into trouble on Friday afternoon because the coastguard couldn’t get in touch with them.

The in-shore boat was launched at 2.45pm and discovered the crew were safe but their radio wasn’t working.

They were given a spare radio and the lifeboat returned at 3.30pm.
