Brassed Off writer’s thumbs up for Whitby

THE man who wrote and directed the hit film Brassed Off has praised the Whitby area in an interview with the Yorkshire Post magazine.

Mark Herman, who also adapted the film The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas, said he likes the North York Moors and the coast around Whitby.

He added that Whitby would be a “great cinematic backdrop for any kind of story” when asked if there was a location he would want to shoot a film in.
