No new coronavirus cases in Scarborough borough - the infection rate is back to zero, according to data

Scarborough borough has gone a full week without any fresh coronavirus cases following one last month.

The borough had not seen a case for more than three weeks when a positive test was confirmed to have taken place on July 29.

Since then there has now been seven consecutive days without another positive Covid-19 result.

The data includes tests carried out in hospitals and also Pillar 2 tests, which is anyone tested at one of the mobile sites in the borough or sent a test to take at home.

Before July 29, the last previous confirmed case in Scarborough was on July 3.

The total number of confirmed cases in Scarborough since the start of the pandemic now stands at 562.

It means Scarborough’s seven-day infection rate has now dropped once more to 0.

As part of tighter lockdown restrictions, the wearing of face coverings will become mandatory in cinemas, museums and places of worship from this Saturday, August 8.
