Films for June at Scarborough's Stephen Joseph Theatre

Films for the family, for art, literature and music fans, and for sport and horror aficionados are on the big screen at Scarborough’s Stephen Joseph Theatre in June.

The theatre's film programmer, Steve Carley said: “It’s wonderful to be able book new releases again, alongside some of the new event cinema titles are becoming available: Sunflowers will look amazing in high definition on the big screen.

“I’m very excited about Sound of Metal which uses its innovative sound design in an attempt give a real glimpse of a world experienced by the Deaf community.

Saint Maud: Morfydd Clark won great acclaim for her portrayal of a pious nurse obsessed with saving the soul of a dying patient in Rose Glass’s psychological horror, partly filmed in Scarborough.

Dream Horse: Dream Alliance is an unlikely racehorse bred by Welsh bartender Jan Vokes (Toni Colette). With no experience, Jan convinces her neighbors to chip in to help raise Dream in the hopes he can compete with the racing elite. Also starring Damian Lewis, OwenTeal and Siân Phillips.
