Head of Caedmon College, Whitby, delighted with students' GCSE exam results
Caedmon College Head Simon Riley said it had been a “really unsettling” time for year 11 GCSE students with lockdown and all the uncertainty about how the results would be awarded.
“We were really pleased with the decision to award the teacher assessments and we felt those were realistic for what those students would have achieved and pleased that’s been recognised," he said.
“There were a lot of good results within that.
"More than half the students got good passes in all their subjects.
"They’ve been a fantastic year group and made a positive contribution to the life of the school over the past five years.”
More than half of the college’s GCSE students will now be going on to take courses at Whitby Sixth Form.
