Following from a talk at the Tucson Gem, Mineral & Fossil Showcase 2019 – the town’s largest event – Rebecca was this year invited to give a presentation about Whitby Jet and its simulants by the National Association of Jewelry Appraisers.

It was the second time Rebecca had been invited to give the talk.

To have the chance on behalf of W Hamond to deliver for many what is a first insight into the origins and history of Whitby’s treasured gemstone is such a privilege.

“In addition to introducing people to Whitby Jet, we hope in some way we are also helping to promote Whitby and North Yorkshire to some of the 65,000 people who visit the shows.”
