Council survey on impact of coronavirus on businesses in Scarborough borough

Scarborough Council is asking businesses to fill in a survey to help it gauge the impact of Covid-19 on their livelihoods.

The authority says the information will be used to prepare a recovery plan for the short, medium and longterm once the lockdown restrictions are lifted.

Questions include how many staff may have had to be furloughed or laid off and how long could your business continue in the current climate if nothing changes.

A council spokesman added that the information would also be used to help shape its own policies and support in the future.

It would also be used to “effectively represent the borough’s businesses on a regional and national level, effectively signpost businesses to existing support and understand how businesses can support each other and the community.”
