Drive-in movies come to Scarborough - where you can see them and what's showing

What-a-Movie has revealed dates  for outdoor cinema experience from the comfort and safety of your car in Scarborough.

“With mental wellbeing an increasing concern with the lockdown, this is an opportunity as the restrictions are eased for families to get out and enjoy a shared, fun experience in lovely surrounding," said Mike Hanson of What A Movie.

“The screenings will take place in accordance with government guidelines on social distancing to ensure the safety of guests. Everything will be contactless and cars will be parked a safe distance apart.”

There will be three or four screenings a day, including children’s favourites The Lion King, Frozen and Toy Story 4, to feel good Sing-Along greats Rocket Man, Bohemian Rhapsody and Grease, and the classic Mamma Mia, as well as Marvel’s Guardians Of The Galaxy Volumes one and two.

"We can guarantee there will be something for everyone, and as it’s a drive-in it won’t be affected by our unreliable British weather. Films will be shown on a high quality LED screen, with sound transmitted direct to your car radio via an FM frequency," said Mike.

Contactless ticket scanning on entry, marshalled parking in bays allowing for at least two-metre distances between cars. Food and snacks can be ordered on site and will be delivered to your car.

Screenings will take place at Scarborough Rugby Club on Friday August 21 to Sunday August 23.
