THEY are billed as being the closest accurate sounding tribute to 70s rockers Led Zeppelin.
And for one night only, Led Zep Too will be rocking Whitby Pavilion on Sunday 23 March but there will be no gimmicks or backing tapes – just four musicians performing their music.
The band have been gigging since January 2005, playing prestigious gi
gs including Arsenal Football Club, The Assembly Rooms in Glastonbury and The Cavern in Liverpool.
More recently, the band were invited to headline the Vibes from the Vines Festival in late summer and other notable events which took place were the filming of a new reality TV show broadcast last spring, featuring Aled Jones learning to play the drums.
The final challenge was for him to perform with a Led Zeppelin tribute band live on stage at a real gig at Camden Rock Café.
Led Zep Too use authentic equipment where possible, including vintage amplifiers, real keyboards, a violin bow for the Dazed and Confused solo, a theremin for the Whole Lotta Love solo and a 26 inch bass drum.
Particular attention is paid to recreating the live sound of Led Zeppelin, using arrangements from live versions rather than playing album tracks.
Revellers had been set for a weekend of 70s glam rock music but a gig by T-Rex tribute band T-Rextasy was pulled for the Saturday night.
All tickets for the show which starts at 7.30pm are priced £10 and can be booked in advance by calling the box office on (01947) 604855.
