Village to host intimate show

EX-Lindisfarne and Jack the Lad band member Billy Mitchell will be playing an intimate gig in Moorsholm next Friday.
Billy started playing the guitar in the early 1960s when they were all made of wood and mostly the same colour.
He formed a 'beat group' with some pals, then went on to form a 'folk group' during the great 'folk scare' of the late 60s and early 70s.
After a spell in Vancouver, Canada, Billy was invited to return to England to join Jack the Lad with members of the recently split Lindisfarne.
At the end of the 70s he joined with Peter McIntyre to form the hilarious Maxie and Mitch, who have spent the last 24 years playing music in a very funny way to people all over the world.
In 1996 Billy joined Newcastle's favourite sons Lindisfarne and since their retirement in 2003, he has embarked on a successful solo career.
Revellers are urged to grab the chance to see Billy in Moorsholm at the Village Hall.
The night will be full of songs with some of his own and some traditional offerings – and a whole load of entertaining stories.
