THE magic of some of the greatest musicals of all time will return to Whitby in a special production of unforgettable musical numbers bringing together the best of Broadway and the West End.
On Sunday at 7.30pm, Whitby Pavilion will host Mad about the Musicals – a two hour extravaganza which will combine all the best moments of classic shows in an evening complete with West End singers, professional dancers, spectacular lighting and glitzy costumes.
This electric production by Mad About Productions has been voted one of the best touring shows by theatre managers across the UK.
The production company has just been nominated for UK Producer of the Year, an award said to be the equivalent of the Oscars for UK producers around the country.
The show has returned with a new cast and an all-new 2008 show which looks set to break previous box office records with numbers from such productions as Les Miserables, Phantom of the Opera, Chicago and My Fair Lady among many more.
The unforgettable lyrics of some of the world's best loved songwriters including Andrew Lloyd Webber, Tim Rice and Claude-Michael Schonberg will be brought together by the vocal talents of a five-strong singing cast headed by Michael Courtney.
An additional ingredient which promises to make this show a night to remember is the comedy running throughout the performance including an array of songs from The Blues Brothers and Half a Sixpence.
Tickets are priced £14 adults, £13 concessions and are available from the box office on (01947) 604855.
