A GIG to celebrate the departure of a popular Whitby band's drummer is being held in Fylingdales Village Hall on Friday (4 April).
UtoXator will play two 45 minute live sets packed full of hard rockin' favourites nd in order to fit in a range of songs from over the past five years.
The night is being organised to commemorate drummer Ben Well's last gig with the band.
They will be playing loads of old numbers mixed with the new and some covers thrown in for fun too.
UtoXator - Alun Davies (guitar and vocals), Luzio Loveday (guitar and vocals), Ben Wells (drums) and Dan 'Mosha' Myers
(bass guitar) have been playing together approaching five years.
Now based in Leeds UtoXator formed in July 2003. The band were all good friends before then, and all played the Whitby and surrounding area in various different bands, namely Alun with Loudmouth, Ben with Silencer, Dan with Piffko and Luzio with Bugg (now Tipping Reliants).
Ben is currently recording the new EP with the rest of the band which is set to be released later this year on LeftOver Records. People will be able to download the EP along with artwork from UtoXator's websites www.myspace.com/utoxator, www.utoxator.com, www.myspace.com/leftovermusicuk.
Supporting will be Ska rockers Bobby Footsteps who have been away from the local live scene for a while and the fast and energetic The Banter who are billed as Whitby's answer to the Arctic Moneys.
The Banter will play an energeic and raw punk set.
The night is going to be recorded for a live DVD and is sure to be an awesome night of music with a huge range of sound.
Doors for the gig open at 6.30pm and entrance costs £3 on the door. All ages are welcome.
