A WORLD famous song and dance group from Zimbabwe returns to Staithes next week.
Following its huge success earlier this year, The Black Umfolosi 5 will perform at the village's Memorial Hall on Tuesday.
They formed in 1982 by school friends in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe and named themselves after the Umfolozi Omnyama River in South Africa, where their ancestors can be traced from.
They present their spectacular songs and dances to audiences of all ages, all over the world.
Their performances are energy-driven and engaging, mixing a gentleness of spirit and song with an exuberance in dance.
And their trademark harmonies mixed with intricate rhythms, clicking and clapping are highlighted during their choreographed shows with a full range of movements from subtle to vibrant stomping and leaping.
Their famous Gumboot Dances showcase the traditional styles and rituals of the South African mining regions and are a particular crowd pleaser.
The Black Umfolosi 5's last visit to Staithes was a total sell-out and people are advised to book their tickets now to avoid disappointment.
The venue is in Cliff Road, Staithes and the show starts at 7.30pm.
Tickets are priced £8/£5 concession and are available by calling (01947) 841024 or on the door.
People are advised to bring their own drinks.
