HERE is a gallery showing the highlights from Whitby's Spirit of the 40s Weekend.
The ration books were out in force as people got into the swing of things and donned period outfits and paraded through the town to the delight of the crowds.

Actual veterans were also involved as were cars from the area which wound their way through Whitby and up to the Pavilion where a whole host events were taking place.

There was a live firing display, a flea market, exhibitions and displays.

Step this way to see how the town got into the spirit.
