THIS excitable young chap had visitors captivated when he made an appearance in Whitby last weekend.
The otter was playing by the rocks near the bandstand on Saturday when he was captured on camera by Whitby Gazette reader John Moor and his wife Barbara from Guisborough who are regular visitors to the town and visit most weekends.

Mr Moor said at first they thought it could have been a seal.

"It was around midday and we were at the bandstand and I thought I saw a seal over the other side of the harbour near the beach.

"When it got closer we realised it was an otter.

"It was feeding in the water then clambered up onto the rocks and was rolling around and playing to the crowd.

"It drew quite a lot of photographers before heading off."
