HANDBAGS and gladrags were on show as Whitby Community College students celebrated the end of their GSCEs.
The year elevens turned out to Whitby Pavilion on Thursday night for their end of year prom.

Limos, Hummers and even a camper van arrived filled to the brim with students eager to dance the night away and release all that pent-up exam stress.

Teacher Debbie Rollins said it was a brilliant night enjoyed by all.

"They all had a fantastic time," she said. "There were awards for the most elegant boy and girl and that went to Liam Ghani and Paige Leighton respectively.

"The night got under way at 7.30pm and went on through until after 11pm.

"It was good for them to wind down after their exams and it was just a very good night.

"Even a few teachers turned out."

Some of the students will stay on at the college to do their A-Levels after they get the results of the GCSEs.
