Whitby Area Musical Theatre Company is busy sorting out costumes, collecting props, learning songs and dances for their fabulous Spring production of The Sound of Music.
As well as a senior cast and a chorus of some 22 members, the company will have 15 junior members aged seven to 18 appearing in the show.
The show’s director Rosalie Abel said: “The company have been keen to develop the youth section over the recent years, and previously their winter productions have been specifically chosen to encourage the junior members.
“So, it is wonderful to have been able to use so many again for the forthcoming production.
“Having joined the company in 1993 as a junior member myself, it’s a joy to still have so many enthusiastic and talented young people wanting to be part of live theatre.”
The Sound of Music is showing at Whitby Pavilion Theatre from The Sound Tuesday 7 May to Friday 10 May at 7.30pm and Saturday 11 May at 2pm and 7.30pm.
